Sen. Jon Kyl
SH-730, United States Senate
Washington, DC 20510

Dear Senator Kyl,
Please clarify your position on the White House's immigration proposal. You helped negotiate it, but do you support it?

President Bush's recent comments in Arizona made it clear that he will propose a citizenship amnesty. He once again made the ridiculous suggestion that our choices are limited to mass deportations or his mass legalization plans - completely ignoring the majority of American voters who prefer the third option of ATTRITION THROUGH ENFORCEMENT. The president must think we are stupid. I hope you have more respect for the people who elected you to office. It would be a great gesture on your part to publicly decry the parts of the White House plan that would reward illegal immigration and harm American workers and families.

If you truly oppose amnesty, you must oppose the White House plan. I supported you and I and my wife both voted for you and I consider you one of the most Statesman like Senators now in office. Another that I admire is Jeff Sessions. You both seem to be doing what is right for the nation, not just for personal power. As a retired Immigratiion Officer, I believe that we are going to get some kind of an Amnasty. I would sincerely like you to consider and ammendment that would require all applicants to abandon the right to give any immigrqtion benefits to any relative including wives, mothers and fathers and children and brothers and sisters for 15 years, at which time they could apply for Citizenship and file for Wives and children only. I think this makes more sense than the heavy money penalties.. I would like also that the protection from prosecution that the Immigration Lawyers put into the 1986 act (IRCA) which created the inducement for fraudulent applications be closely watched by you to prevent this travesty from taking place again. I speak from experience as I was a re-employed annuitant as the Chief Legalization Officer at the Los Angeles District Office for 30 months. I think that one question that should be asked; How many illegal aliens are presently in the United States that have priority dates based upon applications that have been filed for them by relatives. I think that they need to make a decision, Do I
wait OUTSIDE THE USA for the issuance of a valid Immigrant Visa based on that petition with the right to bring in family members(only wives and unmarried children) from outside the USA or do I take the offered Amnasty for immediate gain?
I think that every person who has a immigrant visa priority date
should have to return to their county with in one year from the date of passage of the new law and all priority dates thereafter would be cancelled. I sincerely hope that you will consider my suggestions.

Phone me if you would like to talk about this,

Mr. and Mrs. Noel and Maria Doran
